Vaporetto Tickets

About

About us

vaporetto-tickets.com is a multilingual information and purchase site for vaporetto tickets in Venice. The vaporetto is Venice's water bus network, operated by ACTV, the city's public transport operator. Tickets and travel passes are available from a single 75-minute fare up to a 7-day pass, and they cover the Grand Canal lines as well as the connections to the lagoon islands of Murano, Burano and Lido.

Which fare is the right one depends less on where you are heading than on how often you board, because the lagoon islands sit in the same city fare zone as the Grand Canal. Marco Polo Airport is the exception: the boats out there belong to Alilaguna and need their own ticket. The second thing to settle before buying is when the clock starts. An online purchase produces a voucher, you exchange it for an ACTV ticket at a machine or a Venezia Unica counter, and the validity begins only when you hold that ticket against the reader at the landing stage. We set out the fare types and how long each one runs, which lines call where, and how collecting and validating work.

What this site is not

vaporetto-tickets.com is an independent guide. We are not the official website of ACTV or of Venice's public transport authority. We are not a general Venice travel guide, and we deliberately leave out hotel booking, restaurants, gondola rides, city pass comparisons and attraction tickets that have no connection to getting around by water. We do not sell tickets ourselves: bookings are completed with our partner Tiqets, and their current prices, availability and terms apply.
